Open to all!

Auditions for Richmond Civic Theatre productions are open to anyone*. New to the stage? No worries! Nearly every RCT show has newcomers in the cast. Seasoned vet? Come join us! We have actors on our stage from Dayton, Ohio to Connersville, Indiana, and everywhere in between.

Audition materials will be available below or in the RCT lobby approximately one month prior to the audition dates. You do not need to prepare a monologue or a song on your own; you can simply use the cuts provided to audition from.
When you arrive to audition, you can bring your completed forms with you (available below) or you can fill out your paperwork when you arrive.

*Some shows have age-related restrictions. Please see the individual show’s casting announcement below for details.

As a recent newcomer, I have been amazed at the sense of community Richmond Civic Theatre has built. Right when I walked into my first audition, I was immediately treated like family, and I knew immediately that this place was going to be my home away from home. These amazing humans were not just castmates, but they will be lifelong friends. Community theater and the arts are so important in Richmond and the surrounding areas, and RCT gives people the opportunity to be themselves in a safe and inclusive environment!

As with anything, getting started can be the hardest part! Once you make it through that first audition or sign up for your first backstage crew, you will find a group of welcoming volunteers who will help show you the ropes and teach you anything you’ve ever wanted to know about performing or working in a theater.
